Strategic planning and development
“Ange Jones facilitated an Away Day for Trustees and staff of a small women’s charity. Ange combined a fresh approach to dealing with those issues that Trustees face - 'what is our purpose? what are our values?', with her knowledge of the sector to probe and elicit ideas and contributions - all delivered in a friendly, inclusive and valuable way.”
Deborah Sharp, Director, Women + Health
“Thanks for the strategy session, I feel we really achieved something positive and a real opportunity to move forward.”
Laura Horton, Regional Equality & Diversity Partnership
“Ange Jones has facilitated a number of development days for Birmingham LGBT including strategic planning, organisational roles and responsibilities and change management. Ange took time to understand our needs and as a result prepared a relevant agenda ... to engage all board members and staff - it was focused, participatory and well organised. I would recommend Ange to any organisation looking for an independent facilitator to support their business planning or other workshops.”
Steph Keeble, Director, Birmingham LGBT
“Thank you to Ange Jones for working with NEWomen’s Steering group to plan [CEDAW Action Planning] event, for her calm professional approach to facilitation and for keeping us to time and focused upon the aims and objectives of the event.”
Sue Robson, NEWomen’s Network
Evaluating Service Delivery
“Knowing Ange to be an accomplished and flexible facilitator, we felt confident enlisting her to run an interactive and comprehensive evaluation of the programmes we run in schools.
When planning for the session, Ange was thorough in her questioning, not only about the outcomes we wanted, but also the projects themselves. I felt she understood and appreciated the projects we offer. From this understanding, she helped me explore and come to greater clarity about the data that would be most useful to gather, and as this was the first time we'd carried out an external evaluation of this sort, it was an extremely supportive process.
Ange's meticulous approach allowed her to create a session that was appropriately pitched for the young people participating. A range of mediums, small and large group work, and effective time management with different activities running simultaneously allowed for their short attention spans, as well as enabling us to finish within the 1hr slot we'd booked.
The range and quality of the data collected was useful and appropriate both for submitting to our current donors and for compiling new funding bids.”
Selina Larsen, Schools and Young People's Development Officer (11-21yrs),

Working with boards
“As a developing organisation with a new Board, it was great to have Ange’s support in helping us to think through new policies. Her facilitation gave us the structure and support we needed to get off to a great start as a new team.”
Holly Dustin, Director, End Violence Against Women Coalition
“Within a short space of time in our Board Development session, Ange helped members to identify, prioritise and assess their roles. We were all impressed with how Ange structured the session. She was really able to keep the focus and enable us to produce useful information quickly. We will definitely work with her in the future and have no hesitation in recommending her to others.”
Matthew Daniels, Chief Executive, Sound It Out Community Music
“Our Board Away Day was a really important day in the life of our organisation, where we needed to discuss and agree a way forward on a number of strategic issues. Having Ange’s support in preparing how the discussion should best take place and ... [as] external facilitator meant we achieved much more than we could have otherwise.”
Chief Executive, Equality South West
Collaborations and Team Building
“Ange facilitated a two-day workshop for me which brought together 25 national NGOs working across equality and human rights issues to develop a collective strategy and action plan for the programme I lead.
Ange worked closely with me to plan and design the workshop. During the workshop itself, her facilitation skills were clear and impressive. Ange has a calm, collected and engaging approach to working with people. She observed and responded to group dynamics to ensure all voices were heard equally and used a range of simple but effective techniques to keep the whole event feeling positive, focused and fresh.
I would highly recommend Ange to anyone looking for a skilled facilitator who is able to understand the challenges of, and be creative about ways of achieving ambitious aims in a group setting.”
Emma Hutton, Human Rights Programme Director, Equality and Diversity Forum
“Ange facilitated two team building workshops with our small organisation of volunteers. We were all very impressed by how quickly she understood our needs as an organisation and her apt at picking up on the mood of the participants and using this in a way as to help us be productive and get the most out of our time with her.
Nadia Baksh, Chair, Waltham Forest Women’s Network
“Ange facilitated a conference of 65 participants on behalf of HEAR, the network of London’s equalities organisations in October 2012. It was a very well-run day, inclusive, well planned and professionally executed. Ange used a variety of methods to effectively catalyse discussion in groups. Thanks Ange for helping to make it an inspiring day that achieved our outcomes and got good feedback from participants.”
